CyRise is on a mission to be the number one cyber security accelerator in the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Melbourne, we’re a partnership between Deakin and Dimension Data that’s dedicated to supporting the local ecosystem for the long term.
Scott’s a serial founder who’s been helping to drive Melbourne’s startup ecosystem for many years. Since 2008 he's been Cofounder and CEO for Eventarc and Attendly, as well as cofounding Startup Victoria, the biggest founder-focused non-profit in the country. He also spent five years as a mentor and member of the investment committee for Angelcube, Melbourne’s first venture accelerator.
Head of Partnerships
Kirstin has spent her career traversing the globe in Business Development and Corporate Partnership roles. Her journey to CyRise has come via a food startup in Australia, corporate partnership roles in the UK, market entry in Europe, steel marketing in China and investment analysis in Singapore. Kirstin holds an MBA from IMD in Switzerland and is a co-founder of a charity in the UK.
Head of Program and Communications
Chloé comes from an editorial background, and has navigated her way through creative, marketing and brand roles at food and fashion startups. She honed her brand marketing skills with 4 years at Shoes of Prey, both in Sydney and LA. Setting herself up as a freelance brand strategist, she made her way back to Australian soil to work in the startup community.
Tony is a former investment director at Starfish Ventures, a Melbourne-based technology venture capital firm. Before this role, Tony spent 14 years in Silicon Valley within the tech industry. He has extensive experience as a founder and CEO at two startups with successful exits (Tonic Systems, Cameron Systems) and has worked in product development roles at Google and Sun Microsystems. Tony holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) (Hons) and a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from the University of Melbourne, and a Master's of Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Duncan is a Director of the Strategy and Innovation Office in Dimension Data Australia, having been appointed to this role in October 2016. He sits on the Executive Committee of Dimension Data Australia reporting directly to the CEO, and is also a member of the Strategy and Innovation Committee. The primary focus of Duncan’s role is the development of long term strategic relationships with business partners, in particular around co-innovation in the emerging technology arena.
Stacey is currently the Director Strategic Finance Initiatives at Deakin University. Stacey has 15 years in the higher education sector in senior roles in finance, resource management and marketing. She also has extensive financial assurance and audit experience with EY and Arthur Andersen.
Since 2015, Ben’s worked as Director Research – Commercial at Deakin University, a role that follows Directorships in Technology, Strategy and Innovation, and Investor Relations with Telstra. He’s also worked with the likes of Credit Suisse and Informa as part of a career that’s focused heavily on technology strategy.
